Statistics are not available to show by county of residence the number of persons registered as unemployed in the building industry. Following were the numbers normally engaged in the building industry who were on the Live Register at the Dublin Employment Exchange, the Dun Laoghaire Employment Exchange and the Balbriggan branch employment office (the three local offices situated in Dublin County) on the third Monday of each month in the year 1938 and January-April, 1939:
