Vol. 78 No. 1

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take Nos. 3 and 4 on the Order Paper, No. 2 to be taken in its appropriate place. Public business will be interrupted at 9 p.m. to take Private Deputies' business.

May I draw attention to the fact that there are Bills promoted by Private Deputies on the Order Paper, and I understand the normal procedure is that they have precedence over Private Deputies' motions. Can the Tánaiste give any undertaking as to when there will be an opportunity of discussing these Bills?

The motion under way, No. 16 on the Order Paper, in the name of Deputy Norton, takes precedence.

As it seems to me that there will not be an opportunity of discussing these Bills this evening, I should like to know from the Tánaiste when an opportunity will be given Private Deputies to discuss Bills now standing in their names on the Order Paper?

That is something I could not answer at this stage.
