asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he is aware that during the 1914-18 war the regulations of the Dublin Corporation governing the keeping of swine in the city area which ensured that pigs should not be kept at a less distance than 50 feet from any adjoining dwelling-house were relaxed; and, if so, if he will permit a similar relaxation during the period of the present war, subject to the strict observance in such cases of all other public health requirements.

I would suggest that the representations of the Deputy be made in the first place to the Dublin Corporation as the public health authority.
Might I ask the Parliamentary Secretary, if the corporation agrees to those concessions, will the Minister make any objection?
I cannot give the Deputy a definite reply on that matter at the moment, but the representations of the public authority will, as usual, be carefully considered.
