Precise statistics are not yet available in regard to the acquisition and division of untenanted land during the financial year ended 31st March, 1940; but in round figures it is estimated that in County Kildare 2,800 acres were acquired and 1,200 acres divided, and in County Carlow 270 acres were acquired and 250 acres divided during that year.
