asked the Minister for Defence whether he is aware that in violation of Section 58 of the Defence Forces (Temporary Provisions) (No. 2) Act, 1940, certain persons in County Cork have been engaged for some considerable time in procuring citizens of the State to accept engagements in military, naval and air services maintained by the Government of another State, and, if so, what action he has taken or intends taking in regard to the activities of such persons.

I am not aware of any instance in County Cork where there is evidence available to establish that activities have taken place which would amount to a contravention of the section referred to. The Deputy can, however, be assured that every step will be taken to secure compliance with the requirements of the section if evidence which can be acted upon is secured.
