Vol. 84 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Wireless Receiving Sets on Motor Cars.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he was aware that many motor cars, which are at present laid up and untaxed owing to petrol shortage, are equipped with wireless receiving sets and will he, under the circumstances, forgo making a demand for the renewal of the licences payable in respect of such wireless sets which are not usable while the car is out of commission.

Unless the car wireless equipment is dismantled and transferred to premises in respect of which the car owner holds a wireless receiving licence, or, alternatively, the car while out of commission is housed on such premises, I have no power of exemption from the statutory obligation to keep the licence for the car wireless apparatus renewed. Persons who have any doubt as to their precise position in the matter might commuicate with the Department.
