Vol. 85 No. 1

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business on the Order Paper, Nos. 1 to 6, inclusive. In connection with the Order of Business, I understand that the Ceann Comhairle has been in consultation with representatives of Parties in the House in regard to the idea of advancing the ordinary time for the adjournment of the Dáil while the present restricted city transport services are in operation. It has been suggested that, for this week at any rate, the adjournment should be moved at 10 o'clock rather than at 10.30. It is suggested that the question of the adjournment should be discussed at an early meeting of the Committee on Procedure and Privileges and the arrangements agreed upon at that meeting could be brought before the Dáil. It would be in order, if the House agrees, to move the adjournment at 10 o'clock rather than 10.30.

Agreed.

Would the Tánaiste mind leaving No. 6 over until next week? There is no real urgency about it.

There is no urgency.

Probably it will not be reached but, in order that certain arrangements can be made, would the Tánaiste agree to leave it over until next week?

That could be settled to-morrow.

I would like to consult the Minister.

It will not be dealt with this evening.

The Deputy thinks it unlikely that it will be reached?

It is ordered for to-day but I would say it will not be taken until to-morrow.

I will take it up with the Minister for Industry and Commerce.

Will time be allowed for private members' motions?

If the ordinary business of the day is concluded there will be no objection to taking the motions down in the name of private members.

Will public business be interrupted?

Not to-night, unless public business be concluded, which I think is not unlikely, especially if No. 6 is not taken. Private Members' time could then be taken.

Could it be interrupted at 8 o'clock? I take it public business will not be interrupted?

Then there will be no Private Members' time to-night?

There may be to-morrow.

There may be to-morrow, but there will be none to-day?

There may be.

There may be, if public business is concluded.

Will the Tánaiste say when the National Health Insurance Bill will be circulated?
