Vol. 86 No. 13

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Transfer of Factory.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state whether his Department has been consulted as to the proposed transfer of the factory of Messrs. Wings, Ltd., from Galway to Dublin; and, if so, if he will give the reasons for the proposed transfer.

I have agreed to permit the transfer of the factory of Messrs. Wings, Ltd., from Galway to Dublin, as I am satisfied that the development of the company's industry in present circumstances will be facilitated by the transfer. The reason for the transfer is the difficulty of arranging in Galway for speedy repairs and replacement of delicate machinery.

Will the Minister say if it is intended to retransfer this business when the present difficulties have passed?

The arrangement made with the company relates to the period of the emergency.

May I take it that the business will be retransferred when the difficult period has passed?

I do not wish to commit myself definitely on that score. It is intended that the permission which has been given to the company to transfer to Dublin will be reconsidered at the end of the emergency, when we will have to take into account the circumstances then existing.
