The records of the quantities of petrol issued are kept with reference to the cars themselves. It is, therefore, not possible to give the precise particulars asked for. I am informed, however, that for all the cars employed in this service the total quantities of petrol issued in the months of January and February were:—

I may mention that towards the end of April low-powered cars were taken into use, and the total quantity of petrol used in all the cars on this work was 932½ gallons for the month of May.
