Vol. 87 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Unemployed Clerks.

asked the Minister for Supplies whether, when further temporary staffs are being recruited by the Department in connection with rationing schemes, etc., he will consider the claims of unemployed clerical workers from County Dublin who are registering for employment at Balbriggan and Dun Laoghaire Branch Employment Exchanges.

Any vacancies that arise at present for temporary female clerical assistants in the Department of Supplies are filled from a list of candidates approved by a selection board which interviewed applicants for such posts in November of last year. Of the 460 candidates interviewed for these posts, the majority of the candidates were sent forward from the Dublin Employment Exchange, but there were some also who were registered at the Dun Laoghaire and Balbriggan Exchanges.
