Vol. 88 No. 7

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business as on the Order Paper, in the following order: Nos. 1, 3, 9, 10, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11 and 2.

Mr. Byrne

Can the Tánaiste say when time is likely to be given for the motion on the Order Paper regarding family allowances?

I cannot say.

Mr. Byrne

It is postponed indefinitely?

Indefinitely.

Mr. Byrne

Unfortunately.

Fortunately or unfortunately, as the Deputy likes.

In regard to the first item on the Order Paper, the Electricity Supply Board (Superannuation) Bill, 1942, I propose to ask the Dáil to agree to the amendments inserted by the Seanad.

Is it proposed to take them now?

I would prefer if they were taken about 5 or 6 o'clock.

There is only one amendment of importance—one which was pressed by Deputies opposite and which I resisted here, but which I accepted in the Seanad. The other two are merely drafting amendments and effect no important change whatever in the Bill. However, if it is desired to take them later, I am agreeable to that course.

If the Minister had told us he intended to accept that amendment, we would have known more about it. Would 6 o'clock do?

Yes.

Agreed to take item No. 1 at 6 o'clock.
