Vol. 89 No. 3

Ceisteanna.—Questions. Oral Answers. - Post-War Schemes for County Dublin.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he has received any schemes from the county commissioner administering the affairs of the Dublin County Council in connection with post-war work to deal with unemployment; and if he will state the cost of these schemes, the number of men to be absorbed, and the location of these schemes.

A number of schemes of works in County Dublin have been received. The proposals are of a tentative nature. They include reconstruction of roads radiating from Dublin, and a number of other road works in various parts of the county. Several public health works in the northern and southern portions of the county have also been suggested. Until surveys are completed, and plans are prepared, there is no basis for framing estimates of the cost of such works, or of the extent of employment that would be afforded.
