Vol. 89 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Mayo Estate.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state if it is the intention of the Irish Land Commission to take immediate steps to acquire the lands known as Greaghans demesne, de Clifford Estate, formerly held by Mr. Crawford, of Ballinrobe, and sold recently to a Mr. Brannick; and whether the Land Commission will make provision for Mr. Hyland, the herd on the land, his brother and another employee, if as a result of the sale of this land they lose their employment.

Owing to the emergency conditions, the Land Commission are not in a position to take any action at present regarding the acquisition of the lands in question. The matter of the Land Commission making provision for ex-employees on these lands does not, therefore, arise.
