asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state (1) the date, amount and conditions of loans raised since 1922 by (a) the Clare County Council; (b) Ennis Urban District Council, and (c) Kilrush Urban District Council; (2) the total repayments, including interest and sinking fund, on each loan to date and the balance, if any, still due; (3) the total amounts of overdrafts and the interest thereon procured by each of those bodies since 1922; (4) the amount, conditions and date of loans raised by each of those bodies prior to 1922 which are still outstanding.

The information is not available in my Department and the expenditure of time and money which would be involved in the compilation of the statistics would not be warranted. I would refer the Deputy to the Returns of Local Taxation which have been published for each year up to 1940-41. The returns for the year 1941-42 will be published shortly. I would also draw his attention to Article 24 of the Public Bodies Order, 1942, which provides that a certified copy of the accounts of a public body can be obtained by any person who applies for same at a charge of 6d.
