Written Answer. - The Marriage Rate.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health whether he will state the total number of marriages registered, and the rate per thousand of the population, in each of the years 1938, 1939, 1940, 1941 and 1942 for (a) town areas of 10,000 or more of population, and (b) the remainder of the country; and whether he will give the comparative average annual numbers for the 1931-1940 period.

The following statement gives the information so far as available. The statistics relate only to the four county boroughs and the rest of the country:—
