Vol. 92 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Old Age Pension Investigations.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will take steps immediately to increase the number of investigation officers dealing with old age pension appeals, with a view to having decisions expedited in as many cases as possible before Christmas.

Investigation officers are officers of the Revenue Commissioners. Any representations for an increase in their number would need to be addressed to the Minister for Finance. I would like to assure the Deputy that decisions on old age pension appeals which are before my Department are being expedited as much as possible.
