Vol. 92 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Issue of Exit Permits.

asked the Minister for External Affairs if he will state the number of persons, distinguishing between men and women, who emigrated to Great Britain and Northern Ireland for the purpose of taking up employment in the months of October and November, 1943.

A return giving the figures will be circulated with the Official Report. As I explained before, the figures show the number of permits issued to persons travelling to take up employment, temporary or otherwise, and are, therefore, not a guide as to the number of people emigrating in the ordinary sense.

Following is the return:—
