Vol. 92 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Provision of Roadways on Kerry Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the reasons for the unnecessary delay in providing roadways and fences for the tenants on the estate of Irish Land Commission (formerly S.U. Fitzgerald No. S.3507) in the townland of Barnadarrig, Ballybunion, County Kerry, and whether he proposes to have this work carried out with the least possible delay for the convenience of the tenants concerned.

The scheme for the disposal of the estate in question, as approved by the Land Commission, provided for expenditure on the construction of new roads and the erection of fences. Owing to various difficulties raised by the tenants which necessitated many modifications in the scheme as originally approved, it was not possible to put the scheme into operation until recently, and consequently the provision of roads and fences had to be deferred. It is expected that the work in connection with the erection of the fences will be put in hands at an early date.
