Vol. 92 No. 17

Ceisteanna.—Questions. Oral Answers. - Flooding of County Mayo Cemetery.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will arrange at once to make provision to safeguard the Killeen Cemetery from flooding by the Doogura River, which flows into Beltra Lake (Electoral Division of Croaghmoyle), in view of the fact that on several occasions corpses could not be interred for four or five days until such time as flooding subsided.

I have no direct responsibility for the maintenance of this burial ground. From inquiries recently made it would appear that the cemetery has been kept in a satisfactory manner. I am, however, bringing the Deputy's statements to the notice of the local authority.
