I move motion No. 14:—
That Dáil Eireann is of opinion that in view of the deterioration of the dairy industry, the resultant inadequate supplies of butter and milk and the cessation of a valuable export trade, it is necessary, in the national interest, to establish this essential industry on such a sound and healthy basis that it will secure our full national requirements of dairy produce together with an export supply of dairy produce and live stock; that with this object in view, a Select Committee of both Houses of the Oireachtas be set up with powers to send for persons, papers and records to examine and report on this problem; and that pending such report, the price at present paid for milk at creameries be maintained for the summer season.
