Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Remuneration of Local Authorities' Employees.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he will state in respect of the past six months the counties for which proposals for increased remuneration for permanent nurses, employees of local authorities, have been sanctioned, the counties for which proposals for increased remuneration for midwives have been sanctioned, and the other counties for which proposals for improved scales of salary in respect of either class have been submitted for sanction.

The counties for which proposals for increased remuneration for permanent nurses have been sanctioned over the past six months are Monaghan, Sligo and Wexford, and for midwives of certain dispensary districts, Laoighis, Offaly, Clare and Tipperary, S.R. The other counties for which proposals for improved scales of salary for permanent nurses have been submitted are Donegal and Kerry, and for midwives, Galway, Leitrim, Limerick and Donegal.
