Vol. 94 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cream and Butter Supplies.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will again consider imposing the ban on the use of cream for any purpose other than for the production of butter, and if he will further consider controlling all butter production with a view to providing an increased and more uniform ration of butter to all sections of the community.

As regards the first part of the question, I would refer the Deputy to my reply of the 14th March last to a similar question from him.

The distribution of creamery butter is fully controlled. The control of non-creamery butter to the same extent is considered impracticable in view of the large number of producers involved and the variety of methods of disposal.
