asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will furnish details of the amount of the loans or grants made by his Department between the years 1927 to 1931 and 1932 to 1935, inclusive, to the Carrick Slate Company to enable that company to develop the Ormonde Quarry near Carrick-on-Suir, County Kilkenny; if he will state whether any amounts of these loan or grants have been repaid by the company; and, if so, the amounts and the rates of repayment.

During the period 1927-1931 a guarantee under the Trade Loans (Guarantee) Acts in respect of a loan of £4,500 was given to Carrick Slate Quarry Co. Ltd. to develop the Ormonde Quarry, near Carrick-on-Suir. Repayments of principal totalling £500 were made in 1933.
During the period 1932-1935 non-repayable grants out of relief funds totalling £2,150 were made to the company for the development of the Ormonde Quarry. In addition, a non-repayable grant of £100 was made to the company in the same period to assist in the development of their adjacent subsidiary quarry at Fernane.
