Vol. 95 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Curragh Internee's Health.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state if Mr. Seán McCool, an internee in the Curragh Camp, is in good health at present; if he has been ill recently, and the nature of his illness; and when he received the latest medical report on Mr. McCool's health.

Mr. Boland

It was reported on 6th instant that the health of Seán McCool was satisfactory. The internee last reported sick on 20th September, 1944, when he was suffering from a cough and another minor complaint.

Is it true to say that this man has spent periods of three weeks on the Curragh without a doctor?

That is a separate question.

It is a question on which the Minister should give information to the House.

He ought not to have a man dying on planks.

Would the Minister inform the House whether this internee is guaranteed adequate medical attention at all times?

Mr. Boland

I understand there is a medical officer there all the time.

Is it true that he does not go when he is called on to attend McCool or other internees?
