Vol. 96 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Street Names.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he is now prepared to vest the right in local authorities to change street names without reference to the procedure prescribed in Section 21 of the Public Health Acts Amendment Act, 1907, requiring the consent of two-thirds in number and value of the rate-payers in any street to alter the name of such street.

The course suggested would involve legislation. The matter has been noted for consideration when a suitable opportunity arises.
