Vol. 96 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Coast Erosion.

asked the Minister for Finance if his attention has been drawn to the serious coast erosion at Ballyheigue, Tralee, which is endangering the safety of many dwelling-houses in the village; and, if so, if he will make provision as soon as possible for the construction of a breakwater there.

I have received representations to the effect that coast erosion is taking place at Ballyheigue, Tralee, and that certain private property is endangered. The protection of private property from coast erosion is primarily a matter for the owners of the property, and I regret that I have no funds at my disposal for the carrying out of such works.
