Vol. 96 No. 15

Business of Dáil.

I understood there was an arrangement that we would not sit to-morrow.

I understood that we were to meet to-morrow if we did not finish the Committee Stage of this Bill to-night.

I understood that we were not to meet to-morrow.

If this Bill were disposed of it would not be necessary.

There was a suggestion that the amendments not dealt with might be withdrawn and re-entered for the Report Stage if the Minister agreed to recommit the Bill. It does not matter to me whether or not we meet to-morrow, except that I left the Parliamentary Secretary to the Taoiseach at 8 o'clock under that impression and I think others were under the same impression.

If we recommit the Bill on Report the whole subject may be gone over again.

We could resume what we were to do to-morrow morning. We would be only recommitting the Bill for the amendments not dealt with.

The objection to that is that, if there is some matter arising on a section which has no amendment to it, we cannot discuss it on Report.

There is an important section about bookmakers to be considered yet.

Is it definitely arranged that we are sitting to-morrow?

I understand so.

The Parliamentary Secretary told me we would not be sitting.

I understand there was a discussion on the matter, but I did not know any arrangement had been arrived at definitely to that effect.

The Parliamentary Secretary told me so.
