I ask leave to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to enable the poll at the Presidential election due to be held in the year 1945 and the polls at the elections of members of local authorities due to be held in that year to be taken on the same day, and to provide for other matters relating to the matters aforesaid.
Perhaps I should take this opportunity to intimate to all concerned that should I have responsibility for the Bill, the last day for receiving nominations will probably be fixed for the middle of May and, if there is a poll, it will be either on the 13th or the 20th of June, or some intermediate date.
