Vol. 97 No. 20

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork Postal Deliveries.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether he is aware of the very unsatisfactory arrangements for the delivery of mails now existing in Clonakilty, County Cork, and of the inconvenience thereby caused; and, if so, if he will state what steps he proposes to take to remedy the position.

The time of commencement of delivery at Clonakilty is dependent on the train service available. As a result of an improvement from the 9th instant in the railway service from Clonakilty Junction, it is now possible to commence delivery at 10.40 a.m. every day, instead of at 11.50 a.m. on four days, and 10.40 a.m. on two days, as heretofore. This is the utmost improvement feasible in existing conditions.
