The policy in cases where supplies are limited has been to allow shipping space only to firms which were normally engaged in the particular trade concerned. In the case to which the Deputy appears to refer, the application was made by an agent who had not previously imported dried fruit, and in accordance with the policy mentioned, the application was refused. In any event, the limited allocation of dried fruit made available this year for this country does not include supplies from Turkey.
