Vol. 99 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Kilkenny Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the Land Commission intends to acquire for division amongst local landless men and uneconomic holders the lands comprised in (a) the Harvey estate, Floodhall, County Kilkenny; and in (b) the Hunt estate, Jerpoint, County Kilkenny; and, if it is the intention to acquire these lands, if he can state when it is expected that the lands will be divided and allotted.

(1) Harvey estate: The Land Commission have acquired an area of 405a. Or. 25p. on this estate (Record No. S. 9293) and a scheme for division is in course of preparation.

(2) Hunt estate: Representations have been made requesting the acquisition of lands in the townland of Jerpoint Church, which appear to be on the Stopford (formerly Hunt) estate, County Kilkenny, and the matter has been noted for later consideration by the Land Commission.
