Vol. 100 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Postal Deliveries.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware of the recent delays in postal deliveries at Churchtown, County Dublin, and if he will have the deliveries there expedited.

I am not aware of any recent delays in postal deliveries in the Churchtown area. On the contrary a revision of the delivery arrangements recently carried out whereby the office of delivery was changed from Dundrum to Rathmines has resulted in the morning delivery in the area being made approximately one-and-a-half hours earlier than formerly while the evening delivery is made nearly four hours earlier. The collection arrangements have also been very much improved.

The change of office of delivery has necessitated a change of postal address from Churchtown, Dundrum, County Dublin, to simply Churchtown, Dublin. All the residents of the area were advised of the change of address before the altered arrangements were brought into operation. Some delay may be arising through the continued use of the old form of address and I take this further opportunity of drawing the attention of the residents to the need for using the correct postal address.
