On January 1st last there was a general increase in the quantities of paper permitted to be used in the production of periodicals. This increase applied to the proposed new periodical mentioned in the question. I am not prepared to grant a further increase in respect of this periodical except in consequence of a further general increase.
The question of the allocation of paper for the production of periodicals generally is at present under examination, but I cannot forecast if it will be found possible to increase the rate of allocation for periodicals.
