Vol. 101 No. 1

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take business in the following order: Nos. 1, 3, 4, 6, 7 (Votes 51, 61, 54 and the Public Works group). It is proposed that Private Deputies' Business will be taken at 9 o'clock and that the business will be Motion 2 on List 9.

Would it be possible for the Chair to explain what the procedure is with regard to the moving of a writ for the by-election caused by the resignation of an Independent Deputy? Is it an Independent Deputy who moves the writ or is it the Government?

It is not my business. The Deputy will get that information in the office.

I think the writ should be moved for that by-election without delay so as not to have a vacancy indefinitely.
