asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether it is intended that the practice of having a review, under the Anglo-Irish Trade Agreement, of tariff arrangements in certain cases, be revived; and if so, whether he will make a statement concerning the future procedure under the agreement in question.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Review of Tariff Arrangements.
The reviews referred to by the Deputy were held in compliance with Article 8 of the Anglo-Irish Trade Agreement of 1938. While this agreement continues the British Government may request the revival of the reviews. In such an event, in accordance with Article 12 of the agreement, the reviews would be held first on the classes of goods for which the British Government might request early consideration.
