Vol. 101 No. 17

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Shortage of Milk Bottles.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he is aware that there is a serious shortage of milk bottles for the Dublin milk trade; and that this position is causing great inconvenience to consumers and distributors; and whether, in the circumstances, he will take the necessary steps to ensure that a sufficient supply of bottles is reserved for the requirements of the milk trade.

I am not aware that there is a serious shortage of milk bottles for the Dublin milk trade. Local manufacturers of milk bottles are maintaining production at a reasonably high level and production for the first half of the current year is, in fact, substantially in excess of the production for the first half of 1945.
