Written Answers. - School Attendance.

asked the Minister for Education if he will state, in respect of each of the years 1942 to 1945 inclusive, the total number of pupils on the school rolls at June 30th in (a) infants; (b) first; (c) second; (d) third; (e) fourth; (f) fifth; (g) sixth; (h) seventh, and (i) eighth standards, and the total number for all standards on the school rolls.

The information desired by the Deputy is given on the attached table.

asked the Minister for Education if he will state, in respect of each of the school years 1942 to 1945 inclusive, the number of children who ceased attending national schools, indicating as far as possible the number who ceased attendance at age 14, age 15, age 16, and over 16, and in each case distinguishing between boys and girls.

These particulars are not at present available but they will be furnished to the Deputy as soon as possible.

asked the Minister for Education if he will state, in respect of each of the years 1942 to 1945 inclusive, the number of children in (a) each of the four county boroughs, (b) other urban areas, and (c) rural areas, who ceased attending national schools and indicating, as far as possible, the number so ceasing at each age and distinguishing between boys and girls.

These particulars are not at present available but they will be furnished to the Deputy as soon as possible.
