Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Post Office Savings Bank.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will state the total sum on deposit in (a) the Post Office Savings Bank, and (b) Trustee Savings Banks, on March 31st in each of the years 1938 to 1946, inclusive.

As my reply includes detailed statistics, I propose, with your permission, to have it placed in the Official Reports.

Following is the reply:

(a) the accounts of the Post Office Savings Bank are completed in respect of each calendar year.

The total amount, including interest, due to depositors in the Post Office Savings Bank on 31st December in each of the years 1938 to 1945, inclusive, was as follows:—
