Vol. 103 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Wexford Post Office.

Mr. Corish

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware that the present General Post Office there is much too small to eater for the needs of Wexford town; that at certain times during the week the staff on duty is inadequate to give prompt service to the customers; and if he will take steps to have these matters remedied.

I have been aware for some time of the need for an extension of the accommodation at Wexford Post Office to meet the growing needs of the town. It is now possible, and steps are being taken to have the necessary building alterations carried out.

The indoor staffing arrangements at this office were revised quite recently when provision was made for additional assistance at the public counter. The staff now employed is regarded as adequate. The staffing arrangements at Wexford, as at all other post offices, are kept under constant review.
