Vol. 103 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Offaly Water Supply.

asked the Minister for Local Government and Public Health if he is aware of the severe hardships imposed on the residents of Shannonbridge, Offaly, who are frequently without clean water supplies for domestic use; if he will have inquiries made into the matter; and whether, in view of the local complaints, he will arrange for the installation in the village of a proper water supply.

I am informed by the local authority that the water supply to this village is of satisfactory quality. The colour of the water does not affect its suitability for human consumption. The initiation of a scheme to improve the supply in any respect rests with the Offaly County Council.
