Vol. 104 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Public Amenities in Crumlin and Drimnagh.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that there is an urgent need for recreation parks, halls, libraries and dispensaries in the Crumlin and Drimnagh districts; and if he will state if he has received any recommendations from the local authorities on these necessities for this very populous district.

I dealt with the question so far as it relates to dispensaries in a reply given earlier to Deputy Cosgrave.

I am informed that the Dublin Corporation contemplate the provision of public libraries at Kimmage and Dolphin's Barn. Such an undertaking does not require sanction.

No proposals are before my Department in regard to the provision of parks in the Crumlin and Drimnagh areas. Open spaces have, however, been provided by the corporation as part of their housing schemes in these districts. The corporation have also resolved recently to take over an existing sports ground at Crumlin.
