Vol. 104 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Wexford Schools.

asked the Minister for Education whether he will arrange that all existing schools in County Wexford be inspected and reported upon as to the adequacy or otherwise of the sanitary arrangements.

Under existing arrangements the national schools in County Wexford are inspected periodically by the county medical officer of health. Copies of the medical officer's reports drawing attention to defects in school premises, including the sanitary arrangements, are submitted to my Department and remedial action is taken where necessary. The present procedure appears to be satisfactory, but if the Deputy gives me particulars of any cases in which it is suggested that the sanitary arrangements are not adequate, I will have the matter investigated.
