Vol. 104 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Non-National Residents.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state the number of people, other than Irish nationals, who have come to reside in this country since 3rd September, 1939.

I am not in a position to give full information on this subject, because citizens of Australia, Canada, Great Britain, India, Newfoundland, New Zealand and the Union of South Africa, are exempt from the restrictions imposed under the Aliens Act.

The number of persons of other nationalities who have come to reside here from the 3rd September, 1939, to 31st December, 1946, is 588.
