asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state, in respect of a full year, the estimated sum required to pay the increased bread subsidy.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bread Subsidy.
In a full year, the estimated sum required to meet the cost of the extra subsidy for Dublin bakers is between £120,000 and £170,000. This corresponds to the estimated cost to the bakers of the wage increases recently granted to their employees by the Labour Court, and is in addition to the provision of £175,000 at present required to meet the whole cost of the existing batch bread subsidy in a full year.
