Private Deputies' Business. - Deputies' Imprisonment.

I have a communication to read to the Dáil as follows:—

"The Prison, Sligo.

13th February, 1947.

The Clerk of the Dáil,

Leinster House,

Dublin.

Bernard Commons, T.D., Co. Mayo,

Derrowel, Balla, Co. Mayo.

Dominick Cafferky, T.D., Co. Mayo,

Carrowbeg, Kilkelly, Co. Mayo.

A Chara,

I beg to inform you that the above-named were committed to my custody on last evening, the 12th instant.

They were each committed to serve a sentence of one month's imprisonment in default of bail, the sentence having been affirmed on appeal to the Circuit Court.

The offence for which they are committed is:—

`Did unlawfully make use of language and were guilty of conduct calculated to lead to a breach of the peace.'

The sentences will expire on the 11th March, 1947, unless they enter into the required recognisances at an earlier date.
