Vol. 104 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Phoenix Park Trees.

asked the Minister for Finance if, in view of the alarming condition of the poor of Dublin through lack of fuel and through the sodden condition of turf, he will arrange that a substantial number of suitable trees in the Phoenix Park will be made available to the poor to supply their fuel wants.

The quantity of timber in the Phoenix Park suitable for firewood is strictly limited and the amount, 120 tons, being made available this year in accordance with the usual winter programme cannot be appreciably increased unless good commercial timber is to be sacrificed.
