Vol. 104 No. 16

Motion for Late Sitting.

In that case I had better move that the Dáil sit later than 2 p.m., and that the motion for the adjournment be taken not later than 6 p.m.

What about country Deputies, and how are they to get home if we sit later?

As far as we are concerned, the business before the House, because of its nature, is unopposed business. With regard to Deputy Keating's point there will be no necessity to hold any Deputy in the House who wants to return home to-day unless he wishes to take part in the discussion. I think it is better that we should agree to sit late rather than restrict in any way those who may wish to take part in the debate. As far as we are concerned, we are not, as I have said, opposing the business because of its nature.

That makes the position clear.

Question put and agreed to.
