Vol. 105 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Farm Improvement Work.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he is aware that many farmers, who made applications for grants under the Farm Improvements Scheme, have been unable to complete the work in the prescribed period, owing to the inclemency of the weather; and if so, if he will permit an extension of that period to enable them to complete the work satisfactorily without interfering with the spring work.

I have already arranged that a reasonable extension of time will be allowed for the completion of works under the Farm Improvements Scheme for 1946-47 in cases where I am satisfied that the delay was not due to remissness on the part of the applicants.

Can the Minister say to what date he proposes to extend the time?

It will run into the month of July—about the first days of July.
