Vol. 105 No. 4

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take Votes 66 to 67 to-day—the Social Welfare group of Votes. It is not proposed to take Private Deputies' Business to-day. I wonder would it be possible to get agreement to conclude the business by 2 o'clock, or would it be necessary for me to move that the House sit late?

What business?

The Estimates for the Department of Posts and Telegraphs are not being taken to-day.

I think we can leave the question of sitting late over until 12 o'clock. In view of the condition of the Department and of the Minister's throat we might be prepared to conclude the business as early as possible. There will be other occasions on which the House will have an opportunity of discussing some of the matters which arise on these Estimates.

There will be two Bills that will afford that opportunity.

I do not think we will have any difficulty in concluding the business by 2 o'clock to-day. At the same time, I think we ought to leave the matter open until 12 o'clock as some of the other Parties might like to have an extension of the time for a discussion of these Estimates.

Very well. If it is desired to sit later than 2 o'clock, the motion can be moved before 12 o'clock.
