Vol. 105 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions Oral Answers - Local Authority Employees' Superannuation.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is now in a position to state when the proposed Superannuation Bill for employees of local authorities will be introduced; if he is aware that a number of road workers, formerly employed by the Dublin County Council, whose services were terminated on reaching the age of 70 years, are now without any means except the old age pension; and if so, if he will expedite the introduction of the proposed Bill.

The drafting of the Bill has now been completed and it is hoped to introduce it during the week after next. With regard to making provision for non-pensionable employees of the Dublin County Council whose services have terminated, I would refer the Deputy to my reply on the 28th January last to a question on the subject.
